This Chinese body care therapy addresses the whole body or specific areas for remediation of illness, muscular and joint disharmonies, numbness of toes or fingers, postural alignment, post trauma, psycho-somatic symptoms (adynamic or burn-out conditions, anxiety and restlessness, digestive issues), and mere enjoyment.
The classical method of Tui na is to massage patient, fully clothed (which I will do using my Massage Chair), and even the chiropractic methods are utilized, in China. I have adapted my style to be lying down, prone, supine or on the side, without clothes on, using a sheet to cover those areas that I am not massaging.
Tui Na, which means “push-pull” and (from the I-Ching), “joyous lake”, uses a grasping mode for major muscle groups, acupressure along the Backshu Points on the back and various points on the limbs, neck, chest and abdomen (when needed), as well as a Nei-fa method along spine (myal-fascial) to release nerve tension and invigorate certain organ function. For asthmae, I use a cupping technique with my hand; and for gluteal points and some back points, I will use elbows for deep work, when needed. Pressure is adapted to the body-type and the desires of client.
Tui Na Massage is a maintenance, passive workout for wellbeing, typically. I have clients, statewide, who come to see me whenever they are in Cambria. Many will not go elsewhere. My studio is clean and quiet, and I am here to facilitate your transformative capacity through intention, skill and agape love.
May you find your way to Cambria, and may we meet in this field of potential.
Namaste,
